The standard I aim for
This site targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That's the same bar Section 508 sets for federal digital services, and I don't think a portfolio arguing for that work should meet a lower one.
What I've tested
- Keyboard navigation across every page, start to finish, with a visible focus indicator throughout
- A skip link as the first focusable element on every page
- Heading structure checked so the document outline is meaningful on its own
- Color contrast verified against WCAG AA for text and interactive elements
- Automated audits run with Lighthouse and axe, with findings resolved
- Images given alternative text that describes what matters about them, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology
- Motion and animation kept minimal, respecting
prefers-reduced-motion
Known limitations
- I have not conducted testing with assistive-technology users on this site
