Workshop Facilitation
Translating complex requirements into actionable solutions
Overview
My career has been defined by successfully leading and facilitating complex design workstreams across varied stakeholder groups. A prime example is my work on President Biden's 'Made in America' executive order at Ad Hoc. This project required me to bridge the gap between policy experts and digital implementation - facilitating workshops with Subject Matter Experts who had varying degrees of familiarity with design principles. I developed methods to extract their deep policy knowledge and transform it into intuitive digital experiences that served both government stakeholders and public users.
At Moat Metrics (previously Aon's Intellectual Property Solutions), I led a particularly complex design workstream during our transition from Aon to becoming an independent company. This involved managing multiple parallel tracks: redesigning our digital products to align with new branding while simultaneously improving product functionality. I worked with diverse stakeholders ranging from technically-focused product teams to business-oriented executives, adapting my communication and facilitation approaches based on each group's familiarity with design processes.
My experience teaching at Eastern Washington University's Visual Communication Design program further demonstrates my ability to communicate design concepts to audiences with varying levels of design knowledge. While primarily instructing UX design courses, I also helped structure the UX certificate curriculum, requiring collaboration with faculty from different disciplines to create an effective educational framework.
Earlier in my career at 14four, as Lead UX Designer, I managed complex workstreams across four engineering teams, coordinating between technical implementation requirements and creative design needs. This role required me to adapt my communication style between developers, creative teams, and client stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
